HELPFUL INFORMATION REGARDING COLLEGE ADMISSIONS AND TESTING

• For most colleges, early action and early decision applications have a higher acceptance rate than regular applications
• Summer or January admits usually have a higher acceptance rate than fall admits.
• Public universities are sometimes limited by state law to admit a maximum percent of the freshman class from out of state. Students will be competing for those slots with international students, recruited athletes, and students with family ties to the school.

Ask the Colleges Directly: 

• What percentage of those applying early are admitted early, and what percentage of those applying through regular decision are admitted that way?
